News from West Wales

A couple of days back the Lammas ecovillage project got planning permission!!!

Hooray!!!

After 3 years in the planning system a Welsh Assembly Government Inspector granted us full planning permission for the project. We are elated. At last, all this work has been worth it.

For me personally it is a huge relief. We have 5 years to build and establish our project. I welcome the opportunity to get physical after all… Continue

Lammas update

We have our planning hearing date set now with the Welsh Assembly government (Planning Inspectorate) and are back in paperwork mode preparing our case. There will be a public hearing on 28th July and then the Inspector will go away and make a decision within the following 4 weeks.

In one sense the local government (Pembrokeshire County Council), although wanting to bounce the decision up to a higher level, seem to be conceding that we… Continue

It is certainly good to be working on the land.

Hi Paul! ;-)
I was telling Susan a couple days ago I would not be surprised if you took a couple years off from even looking at your computer! Well done Paul and I wish I could congratulate you in person. My son Jade wants to visit you guys for his 14th birthday which would be July 2011...
So whenever you are ready lets talk about what is next and how we can best be of service to the growth of Lammas as well as importing the frameworks over here in the US. I am anxious to explore all possibilities for using Lammas' victory to help speed up processes for other EcoVillages. We will resume radio broadcasting late fall/early winter and we were thinking it would be good to do a show specifically about the success of Lammas and how other developing EcoVillages can use this precedent for their own forward momentum. Anyway - we can talk when you are ready and have some time...

Hugs

Hi Charlene,

Nice to meet you. Wisteria looks well established. Well done. We have come a long way in three years, though it is just a pre-beginning to where we need to go. What's more, it is looking very possible that we will be filmed during the first 2 years in order to make a tv documentary series. In one way this is fantastic in terms of spreading the possibilities and also it will be an added pressure to the task in hand.

Any insights into leadership welcome - it is not something that I have ever really done before.

With love,

Paul

Hello Paul, Good luck on being a primary founder for Lammas. As a primary founder for our community, I share with you good thoughts that your leadership helps guide the community in ways that transform existing social models to more sane ways of being.

Amazing that your founding/rooting came around Lammas time, fortuitous! Please view Wisteria as your friendly encouraging cousin across the ocean! I hope that we can share views/experiences at some point. Learn more about us at www.wisteria.org . Blessings on us all as we share the harvest. Charlene
