A heartfelt welcome to you EcoVillagers and sustainability comrades all!
We have the honor of posting the first words on this forum, and it feels akin to planting a first seed of a garden that has unlimited potential for growth and bountiful rewards for those who tend to it and bear witness to it's evolution. While we cannot know what the garden will look like as it evolves we have great faith that given the variety and wealth of seeds available, it's going to thrive and expand to nourish many people in many ways.
The communities that join this network have a unique opportunity which we are excited to witness and be a part of exploring with you. What we do with this forum will lead to a strengthening of the network of people and groups focused on sustainability, and in turn spread awareness and education to others. We have been empowered to lay the foundation for a place where information and resources are shared, connections are made and utilized, possibilities explored and sustainable solutions discovered.
There are 4 discussion topics ready to be posted to in the forum. This one is for you to introduce yourself and tell us a little about who you are and about your community (if you live in one already) Additionally, there is a discussion area for your immediate feedback and requests for changes to the Community Sphere, a place to post your ideas about networking and how it can benefit both you (or your community) and between all people/communities involved, and a place for talking about what goals we want to make for the development of the discussion platform.
These 4 areas will get us going, and from here we can choose new discussion threads to start as needed and desired. We encourage you to offer your ideas freely about how you want to see this forum work. Think about how you/your community can benefit from the Community Sphere.
As with any garden, the energy and passion we put into it will transform it. The Community Sphere is ours to make it what we want it to be. Together, our ideas and imaginations will guide it's growth and make it a welcoming and resourceful place.
LAUGH & PLAN IN CONJUNCTION!
This has been our team motto as we have built this project from zero. Another favorite is "Men Plan and God Laughs"
So as we mirthfully set goals and methodically go about the daily tasks to achieve them we must always keep in mind that the Universe indeed has it's own strategy and we are blessed to be flexible enough to accommodate it yeah?
So let's weave our ideas and goals for this Sphere and fill our beings with laughter that has a destiny to fulfill...
So, thanks for being here, and let's get started.....

Hi my name is Ralph Jaggi and I live in Colfax California
I am working in this new area to help make it happen for all.
I
Hello all, I am half Scottish and the other half Chinese from Malaysia. My wife, Joyce provided me a beautiful life and support. She is Chinese originally from Kuching, Sarawak also in Malaysia better known as Borneo. Our partnership for 14 years now has provided me with 2 lovely children, Stewart(4 years old) and Alisha (2 months old). My growing years in a small town surrounded by mountains called Kampar was my nature learning playground until I pursuit my education in the city of Kuala Lumpur where we are now living. After 20 years in sales for the printing industry, my urge for nature grew stronger each day! The idea of Sustainable Living made meaning to me when we were on holiday in Queensland, Australia more than 10 years ago and now, I am searching for an opportunity to be part of a sustainable community. The question or I may say, my 'fear' to begin the journey is still remain uncertain as I am fully employed and I am responsible for my family welfare and to my job. During weekend, we would spend our time with organic farmer to volunteer in exchange for real life experiences and my family to accept the lifestyle.
During my journey of searching, came along my customer turned friendship, Mr. & Mrs. Oye. They are a magical couple embarking into Humanity by developing PROLO which stands for 'Promise Of Love'. They were Spiritually motivated into starting this project on a 9-acres land in Raub. The on-going development has promised a beautiful landscape with unique structures to accommodate guests for learning of humanity, spiritual practice, healing and others in planning are art & music center, business & trade center, 30 accommodations, restaurant. I see my role in building a sustainable life with a small community to manage the humanity project.
Before my involvement with the project, my biggest question... where, when & how do I START?! Where should I be to learn and experience? Then follow by when? And how to be part of a sustainable community?
I am open to all opinions and suggestions, thank you very much for your attention and looking forward to your kind sharing.
With love,
The McNABs.
Hi Alexander!
Is there a possibility that you can visit any eco-communities in the world?it would be the best if there's one in Malaysia. the best way to learn is to experience yourself the life in the eco-communities, since there're many well-established ones existed already. Then questions in you will be raised and answered. Once you have a clear VISION of what kind of community you would like to live in, then you will see either you can create or join one. When? i would say start from NOW on!! you're not alone. And you will have the supports as long as you follow your heart! :) i recommend a book to read, Creating A Life Together by Diana Leafe. And if you haven't read My Ideal Ecovillage, please do! I wish a bright happy sustainable life for you and your family!
with love, Vana
Good morning Vana,
I woke up to your message and I am happy to have your opinion and suggestion as it is food to my thoughts. I shall continue searching for a community and start there. Having connected with all of you will provide a form of networking to achieve my dream. In Malaysia, we still have many traditional tribes living as community but it is losing its culture very fast. There is a saying from my father in-law when I shared with him about my intention, "...we just came out from 'there'! don't be silly thinking about it. Have a good life by keeping your job". He has a point based on his experiences living for as long as he remembers in the forest, working very hard just to live. As for me is the same, based on my experiences living in the city brings a kind of suffocating feelings and every things seem 'short term'! I think all these are reflected by knowledge, care & love. Therefore, I shall follow my heart to find paradise...
Thank you very much and my love from Malaysia :)
Yeah GO for it, Alexander! It is so beautiful to see a person who's following his heart!
I'm sending you my deepest blessings here, may your dream come true and may a paradise be with you!! :)
much love,
Vana
